Unexpected Lessons from Claude Code Experiments

For the past six weeks, I’ve been continuously building tools with Claude Code. I started small with things like PopClip extensions, which I covered last week, and moved on to tools like a loudness leveling script that adheres to podcasting industry standards and allowed me to dump my underutilized Creative Cloud subscription when Adobe raised prices. From there, I began integrating more and more of my everyday workflows into a combination of scheduled scripts and Notion integrations that has allowed me to do more than I could before. For example, replies and comments from our 13 social media accounts and two YouTube channels all feed into a Notion database where they get prioritized so I can respond to them quickly without doom scrolling or switching among 15 different accounts.
It’s those sorts of hyper-personalized software tools that are the biggest stories of AI-assisted scripting and development because they allow you to build things that fit better with your workflows than any general-purpose app ever could. We’ll be talking about the impact of all this on AppStories the episode after next, and to prepare for that discussion, I’ve been working on a few projects.
