My iPad Home Screen, Just Before WWDC 2024
It’s been a while since I last shared my iPad Home Screen, and with WWDC starting in two days, it felt like a good opportunity to capture this moment in time and see what my iPad looks like before the AI takes over.
I’m kidding, obviously. (At least, I think I’m kidding.) What I think is interesting about sharing my Home Screen is that, historically, WWDC introduces app-related changes that push me toward reconsidering Apple’s first-party apps instead of the third-party ones I’m using. From that perspective, this year is especially interesting since it sounds like Apple’s own apps may receive support for AI-based features that may not be available to third parties immediately. Which makes me wonder: is there a scenario in which, say, I love the Things app so much for its advanced automation features, but the new AI functionalities in Reminders are so good that they make even the greatest Shortcuts integration ever released feel dated and unnecessary?
