Managing Busy Days in Things with Shortcuts

Watching what Federico’s been up to with Things automation spurred me to give the app another try. I love Things and was using it before I switched to Reminders for the summer review season, but aspects of the app have always bothered me.

I don’t like how Things handles recurring tasks that you complete early. I also wish the app supported smart lists, allowed me to hide the sidebar sections I don’t use, and offered a column view. Still, the app’s Shortcuts support and URL scheme go a long way toward papering over some of those rough patches. And because it’s so easy to move in and out of task managers, I decided to dive back in last weekend.
