Forecast Bar

Last summer, I started searching for a new way to access the weather on my Mac. I check the forecast most frequently on my iPhone, but if I’m sitting at my desk looking at my Mac’s display, it’s a distraction to pull my iPhone out of my pocket. Instead, I wanted the same kind of glanceable weather data on my Mac’s screen.

There are lots of weather apps on the Mac, and just like iOS, many of them aren’t very good. After trying several, I landed on Forecast Bar and have been using it continuously for over a year. To start with, Forecast Bar solved my glanceable weather problem with an optional menu bar item. If menu bar apps aren’t your thing, you can set up Forecast Bar to display the weather in your Dock instead.
