iPad Apps with Extensive Keyboard Support

Two things have happened in recent weeks that made it feel like the perfect time to feature apps with strong iPad keyboard integrations. First, the iPadOS 13.4 beta includes keyboard changes, indicating Apple may have a keyboard story to tell when it’s ready to launch new iPad Pros. Second, NetNewsWire debuted on the iPad and iPhone this week, and the RSS client does a fantastic job offering full keyboard navigation. I don’t know of a single app that, prior to mid-2018, offered extensive keyboard support, which I define as enabling control of nearly the entire UI via keyboard. Finally things have started to change, with NetNewsWire being just the latest example of an iPad app taking the keyboard seriously.
