iOS Gaming with the GameSir Galileo G8 Controller

Source: GameSir.

I’ve caused a lot of Club members to pull out their credit cards over the years, so it was only fair that Nicholas recently turned the tables on me in the Club Discord, posting a link to a Retro Game Corps video about the GameSir Galileo G8 accessory for the iPhone. The G8 is a controller accessory similar to the Backbone One or Razer Kishi but less expensive and vastly superior to either of those devices. I picked one up on Amazon recently, and I’ll cut to the chase: If you play native iOS games that support a controller, stream games locally or from a cloud service, or are emulating classic game systems on the iPhone, this is the controller to get.

I’ve used the Backbone One and Razer Kishi iPhone controllers. They’re similar and quite good, but the G8 is a significant leap forward. The controller shares a lot of similarities to an Xbox controller but with a North American SNES color scheme. Also, those controller grip faceplates are attached magnetically, which means they can be replaced, but so far, GameSir doesn’t seem to sell alternative faceplates.
