iOS Apps with True Black Themes, Vol. 2

Unread
Unread has long been one of my favorite RSS readers due to its beautiful design. After the app gained a new owner last year, it began adopting modern iOS screen sizes and features again, such as iPhone X and iPad Split View support. One other notable change is adding a true black theme for the iPhone X. While the theme’s red accent color isn’t my favorite, that aside, Unread offers a fantastic reading experience on the iPhone X. Not only is the black theme gorgeous, but the app’s layout and gestures are a perfect fit for a tall, edge-to-edge display.

Bear
When it comes to note-taking apps, Bear is the king of themes. It should be no surprise, then, that the app added a true black theme shortly after the iPhone X’s launch. Available to Bear Pro subscribers, the Dieci theme offers the optimal minimalist writing environment – in contrast to the traditional white document template, it will feel like your typed words are appearing on a screen that remains otherwise deactivated.
