HomeKit Apps for Easy Access to Scenes and Devices

After a long hiatus, I’m digging back into HomeKit. We’ve settled into our new home, and I’m in the process of repurposing older HomeKit devices and buying some new items that will fit better with our new setup. For more on my projects, check out this week’s episode of MacStories Unplugged.

That process has me looking at HomeKit apps again, but unlike a couple of years ago, my focus is more on convenience than automation. I haven’t abandoned automation; just look at my Shortcut Essentials column below. It’s a topic for another day, but HomeKit automation is far too limited for most of what I want to do. So instead, I’ve been concentrating on apps that make using my HomeKit devices easier to use, and I thought I’d share some of my favorites.
