Audiobooks and the Ecosystem: New Hobby, Old Tools

It all started with a parenting book – sitting on the digital shelf of my Books app library, collecting metaphorical dust, until I just couldn’t take it anymore. “I bought this thing months ago,” I muttered to myself. “Why haven’t I finished it?” The truth is that I love to read, but I just don’t set aside enough time for it in my daily schedule. Other things take precedence, and the books on my Want to Read list end up getting lost in the mix.

Fed up with my lack of progress, I decided to take a different approach: if I couldn’t bring myself to read the ebook, maybe I’d have better luck listening to it in audio form. And thus, my first audiobook purchase was made. Within a week, I’d finished the book that had been occupying space in the back of my mind for over three months. I was thrilled!
