Skylight Forecast

Skylight is one of the most unique uses of weather data I’ve seen. It’s from Lux Optics, the makers of Halide, and predicts the best times and conditions for taking outdoor photographs based on weather conditions and other atmospheric data. Because it’s using weather data, the app is subscription-based, which is unusual for photography utilities like this but understandable given its use of weather data. I used Skylight Forecast several times during the beta and found its predictions of good times to take photographs were accurate, making it a good way to take some of the guesswork out of getting a great sunset shot.
