Detail Duo

Detail is a video streaming studio for the Mac and iPhone. Detail Duo is a separate iPhone and iPad app for recording video from the front and back cameras of an iPhone or iPad simultaneously. My son Finn, who is an occasional contributor to MacStories, is part of the development team at Detail that created Detail Duo, so make of that what you will, but I like the app’s simplicity a lot. Duo offers multiple split screen and picture-in-picture effects for recording your video, along with several color schemes and shapes for the frames surrounding your video. All three cameras on the iPhone Pro and Pro Max are available for recording too.

Your creations are saved in-app and can be accessed by tapping on the folder icon. Here you’ll find all the video you’ve shot saved as a combined front and back camera video alongside the separate video files, which has the benefit of allowing you to change the layout, colors, and other details at any time, which is a great touch. Finally, you can save your individual or combined front and back videos to the Photos app, Files, or send your video to Detail’s Mac app for editing.
