An Update On My XREAL Air Setup with the iPad Pro
It was only a few weeks ago that I wrote about the RedMagic USB-C adapter – arguably, the best USB-C dongle I’ve ever seen in terms of compact size and support for USB-C fast charging and video out in the same package. As I explained, I wanted to find the smallest possible adapter to charge my iPad Pro while simultaneously connecting my XREAL Air glasses, which are treated by iPadOS as an external monitor. At the time, the RedMagic adapter was my only option, and it’s been working wonderfully for me.
Over the past week, however, I was able to get my hands on a new accessory that offers the same functionality as the RedMagic adapter, only in with an even smaller footprint. I linked this in the brand new Setups page on MacStories: the Viture USB-C to Glasses & Charging Adapter, which is a smaller dongle that lets you fast-charge your iPad Pro while outputting its display to XREAL Air glasses at the same time.
