The Cross-Platform Apps and Services I Use

As part of my tour of other platforms and devices lately, I’ve been thinking about the cross-platform apps and services I was already using, and how they made it easy to move between iOS, iPadOS, Android, and Windows. During this process I also started using some new services to simplify my life, and I thought it’d be fun and useful to run through them.

I was inspired to put together this list by a post published by Robb Knight, who recently argued that everything should have an API. While I’m not done with closed services like Robb (I still like my well-crafted, well-designed iOS-only utilities), I can’t deny the advantage of experiences that follow you everywhere as long as you have an account. Not all of these services have an API, but because they are web-based, they make it easier for people who want to try different devices to continue using them as if nothing happened.
