Among the third-party apps supported by Workflow, there are two Pocket actions to save items and get existing ones from your Pocket account. These aren’t actions based on local URL schemes – they connect directly to the Pocket API and require authentication with your credentials via the Pocket app or website. And because web actions are faster and easier to run than actions that open other iOS apps, we can come up with a fast and useful workflow to share articles we’re reading.
We want to build a workflow that lets you pick one of your most recent unread articles and that transforms it into a rich shareable message that contains text and the lead image of a story. The text should consist of a default message, the title of the article, and its URL. By saving all these bits to a single variable, we’ll be able to use the Linky extension (or any other share extension) to post a message on Twitter or Facebook that contains both a link and a picture.
