Copying and Pasting Shortcuts Actions Between Shortcuts...and the Home App

I’ve been spending some time lately configuring a HomeKit button to control lights in my kitchen (a topic I plan to explore soon in the Automation Academy) and, as you can imagine, I ended up assigning shortcuts rather than scenes to various button presses. If you have a HomeKit button, you can do this by configuring a button press, scrolling to the bottom of the scene picker, and selecting the ‘Convert to Shortcut’ option:

Running a shortcut instead of a scene for a HomeKit button.

This is not a new feature of the Home app (it was introduced in iOS 13), but it’s always been quite hidden, and I continue to disapprove of Apple’s choice to separate shortcuts for your own Shortcuts library from “shortcuts” you need to create and manage inside the Home app. This is exactly the kind of problem I faced last week, and I’ve come across a handy tip I wasn’t familiar with that I want to share with fellow Club members.
