Behind the Scenes of My iOS and iPadOS 18 Review

Working on this year’s review of the latest versions of iOS and iPadOS was different. I long debated how I wanted to approach Apple Intelligence and the way I felt about the upcoming arrival of generative features on iPhones and iPads, and I ended up writing a very personal conclusion to my review that, in the process, sets a direction for MacStories. I decided to start transitioning my legacy U.S. Apple Account to a real European one and fully embrace the features made possible by the DMA. I collaborated with a freelance artist to illustrate the review.
It’s been a summer of change for me as a writer and a content creator; as I shared online, I haven’t felt this energized in a long time, and I couldn’t be happier with the decisions I’ve made. Mostly because I feel so strongly about these ideas and changes, no one can tell I’m wrong. They can ignore me, and that’s okay. The Internet’s a big enough place for all kinds of websites.
