APP DEBUTS

Noteworthy new app releases and updates, handpicked by the MacStories team.

Inspect Browser

I’ve used Inspect Browser for years now to inspect the contents of webpages and find hidden assets in stylesheets (e.g., official iOS logos) that I would otherwise be unable to access with Safari alone given the lack of developer tools on iOS and iPadOS. The app graduated to version 2.0 earlier this week, and it’s a major update that makes the UI – especially on iPad – considerably faster and easier to use thanks to a new side panel, support for drag and drop in the existing sidebar on the right, and the ability to show two panels at the same time. With this design, tapping to inspect elements, capture screenshots, or editing the contents of a webpage are just a tap away; in the main sidebar, you no longer have to find additional controls in a nested ‘More’ menu since everything is top-level now and you can both scroll and drag and drop controls at the top of the sidebar. If you’re a web developer or occasionally need to inspect webpages on your iPad, Inspect Browser is a must-have utility.
