My favorite note-taking app continues to improve at a rapid pace and it’s adding new useful functionality on a weekly basis now. With the latest update to Craft, you can now create spaces in external locations on your device that do not use Craft’s online service for sync and storage. This means you can create a space in iCloud Drive, Working Copy, AnyBuffer, local storage, or any other compatible file provider on your iPhone and iPad, eschewing Craft’s proprietary service (and thus collaboration features too) altogether. There are other welcome improvements worth mentioning in this release: on iPad, the search panel has been redesigned to offer a Spotlight-like document preview on the right side, which makes it easy to see the selected search result at a glance; toggle lists – a recent addition to the app – now display helper lines to visualize the hierarchy of nested nodes and support a keyboard shortcut to expand all children items; lastly, you can import notes from Roam and Notion, as well as batch export documents in Markdown and TextBundle formats out of Craft.
